How to Change Your Background on MySpace

If you're not looking to use your own background, by far the easiest way to go is to use one of our premade backgrounds. Once you've found a background you like, copy the MySpace code from the box and paste it at the very bottom of your "About Me" section. Not sure how to do this? Follow these steps:

1.  Copy the background code from the box (click in the code box and all of the code will be selected automatically, then hit CTRL+C or right-click and select Copy to copy the code):

2.  Log into MySpace
 
3.  Click "Edit Profile" up by your beautiful MySpace photo:

 
4.  Paste your new background code at the very bottom of your About Me section, below any text you've typed in (CTRL+V or right-click and select Paste):

 
4.   Click "Save All Changes":

 
5.  Click the "View My Profile" link on the upper right of your Profile Edit screen to view your beautiful new background:

 
6.  You're done!

This is a bit trickier than using a premade background with premade code, but you can handle it! To use your own background, you'll need to upload it to a free image hosting service. PhotoBucket is a popular choice, so we'll use them for this tutorial.

Note: the most common screen resolution is 1024 x 768, so it's probably best to use a background picture that's about that size (or at least 800 x 600 pixels) for the best look.

1.  Click on the PhotoBucket logo below to launch a new browser window for their site:

 
2.  Log into PhotoBucket (or register if you haven't used them before)
 
3.  Find the "Upload Images" Area. Click the Browse button to locate the background image you want and click Upload.

 
4.  Click the code box for "URL Link" which will copy the image URL to the clipboard:

 
5.   Click HERE to launch our Background Code Generator in a new window. Paste the URL Link Code into the box and click Generate:

 
Copy the background code that is generated.
 
6.  Log into MySpace
 
7.  Click "Edit Profile" up by your beautiful MySpace photo:

 
8.  Paste your new background code at the very bottom of your About Me section, below any text you've typed in (CTRL+V or right-click and select Paste):

 
9.   Click "Save All Changes":

 
10.  Click the "View My Profile" link on the upper right of your Profile Edit screen to view your beautiful new background:

 
11.  You're done!
